Tanzanite
It is the transparent and most valuable quality of the mineral Zoisite. It was only discovered in 1967 in the southwest of Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania.
It has a very impressive blue-purple color, and presents the phenomenon of trichroism (see dichroism), i.e. it changes hue depending on the angle from which we observe the stone. . The shades displayed by tanzanite depending on the angle of observation are blue, purple, greenish. The natural stone after its extraction is usually yellow-brown. With heat treatment, this color becomes the blue color that the market knows for tanzanite. This color is completely stable, and this treatment is considered "acceptable"
